David Lynch is a celebrated Memphis based artist who feels the Heart & Soul of this great city in every brush stroke of paint applied. A stately romanesque Revival Church just south of Beale Street began with an all White congregation in 1892. In 1949 the property was sold to an African American congregation who remaned it to Clayborn Temple. The pastor created the "I am a man" signs with his own printer which have since become a universal symbol for human rights & dignity.
