#35 CLAYBORN TEMPLE PRINT BY DAVID LYNCH
13 X 19
David Lynch is a celebrated Memphis based artist who feels the Heart and Soul of this great city in every brushstroke of paint applied. A stately romanesque Revival Church just south of Beale Street began with an all White congregation in 1892/. In 1949 the property was sold to an African American congregation who remaned it to Clayborn Temple. The pastor began the "i am a man" signs with his own printer and have since become a universal symbol for human rights and dignity.
